Please find below our latest news.
Over the past two days we have been celebrating Safer Internet Day! In our classes and assemblies we have been discussing this year’s theme of ‘Talking About It’. We have completed a variety of activities from playing games to creating posters to talk about the things we love about the internet and how we can stay safe online. We want the children of Peterbrook to enjoy their experience when going online and know to talk to someone when things online upset them. Online safety is an important skill that will have an impact on your child throughout their life. At school we remind children throughout their computing topics about how to stay safe online and who they can talk too. Peterbrook Primary EAL Ambassadors are so pleased to announce the following winner of the Chinese New Year competition:
Nursery - George
Reception - Charlotte
Year One - Polly
Year Two - Askari
Year Three - Kapri
Year Four - Alessa
Year Five - Prisha
Year Six - Charis
We were overwhelmed with the fantastic response and to chose one winner per year group (two classes) was beyond difficult. The Ambassador had the final say on the winners looking for Red, Gold, Rabbits and Chinese Writing!
Thank you for taking the time to enter our competition, it was so fabulous to have the whole schools interest. We hope you enjoyed your special Chinese take away lunch and fortune cookie!!!

Tomorrow is Safer Internet Day where we are celebrating by putting children and young people’s voices at the heart of the day and encouraging them to shape the online safety support that they receive. As a school we will be completing activities in our classes to help our children in speaking about staying safe online and discussing what they use technology for. This week is Children's Mental health Week. At Peterbrook, we do a lot to help the children manage their mental health. We have introduced communication boxes in each classroom to allow children to have an additional way of communicating with their teacher and we teach the children strategies to help them when they are stressed or anxious such as the chime bar and deep breaths. We try and include an assembly on mental health each term and on Monday, Mrs Burke delivered an assembly to introduce Children's Mental health week. Please have a look at the poster with lots of self care ideas. If you need further support for your child, please look on the NHS website which has lots more ideas as well as places you can go for help.
