March 2024
It has been a great half term taking us up to Easter in Year Six. We have continued to work extremely hard in maths and English lessons, developing further independence in our writing whilst enjoying the text 'Journey to the River Sea'. In maths, lessons have covered a range of topics and children's effort in these lessons and during booster sessions has been exemplary.
Our other lessons have included topics on light and the circulatory system in science, lots of skills in PE and some superb benchball games whilst we also further enhanced our knowledge of the entire curriculum.
One final term ahead of Year Six with lots of hard work and hopefully a term to remember for all the right reasons.
It's been a fantastic start to the new year, with all the children working hard both in and out of the classrooms.
We have been working on World War Two in our music and History lessons, investigating Light in Science and have been focusing on our own dreams and goals in our PSHE lessons.
We have also had opportunities in many sporting events lately, with the children thriving and performing really well in our football, basketball and athletics events.
We've had a great time with preparing for the Christmas Fayre and to be able to run our own stalls.
We've also been working extremely hard in all our subjects, as we know this is a very important year and the hard work means that we are all making good progress.
We had a fantastic time celebrating children in need last week; we ran our socks off for our challenge of running from Solihull to Qatar (3328 miles). We raised lots of awareness for the charity and will raise lots of money too It was a great day!
We also watched the first England match of the World Cup; we all got into it and saw a fantastic 6-2 win! We look forward to the rest of an amazing tournament!
We had a fantastic trip in Llanrug this year; it really was a week where memories were made and will last a lifetime!
It was a week full of new experiences for us all, where we got to be adventurous on land and in the water.
We rode in canoes, completed zip wires, rock climbed, went mining, walked a lot, swam in the sea, went rafting, threw ourselves into the sea from rocks and many many more activities, which I'm sure the children have told you about.
It was a really special trip and the children were amazing!
