Spring Term 2
We have had a very busy start to the new term. On Friday 3rd March we went on our trip to the Black Country Living Museum where we all got an insight into life as it once was! The children all got to experience what school was like in Victorian times, as well as shops and homes. They all had lots of questions to ask our guides as we were given our tour. Here are some of the photos that were taken that day.
We have also been enjoying our science lessons! Our caterpillars finally arrived and we have been very excited by how quickly they are growing. The first picture below shows them on day 6 and the second picture shows them on day 13- we can't believe this is in only 1 week!
During science week we have created posters on the theme of 'Connections' and we have also played at being detectives. We have learnt about fingerprints and we took our own fingerprints and used magnifying glasses to determine what type of fingerprint we each had. The children really enjoyed this practical session, even if we did all get a bit messy!
Spring Term
The children in Badgers had a very busy half term. They have worked extremely hard in all of their lessons and have produced some lovely work in all subjects. In Art and D&T they have been working with clay, producing a variety of pieces of work. Take a look at some of our finished pieces!
In English we studied the story of King Lear by William Shakespeare. We acted out the beginning scene and each group produced a 'freeze frame' of a specific part of the story.
Autumn 2
It has been a very busy half term in Year 2! We have completed our English Unit of Traditional Tales and learnt about addition, subtraction and shape in our maths lessons. We have already shared some pictures of our Computing unit, where we learnt how to take a good photograph and add different effects. Alongside this and lots of other hard work, the children were busy learning songs for our Christmas Carol Concert, which they performed brilliantly!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Computing
Our unit this half term is ‘creating media’. We have been looking at the many devices that can be used to take a photograph. Initially, the children took a series of photographs using an iPad. We then looked at the concepts of good lighting and focus as important aspects of good photography composition. For this we used digital cameras and took photographs of objects in different lights. Take a look at us at work!
We just wanted to say what a wonderful half term the children have had, they have settled into year 2 brilliantly. We wish all of the children in Badgers a lovely half term and please keep up the good work. Mrs Debono and Mrs Burn
