On Wednesday 9^th March, the children had a special visitor come into assembly. Perry, the mascot for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games came and taught the children a little bit about the Commonwealth, who oversees the commonwealth and the Games that will be taking place so close to home! Pupils were on their feet getting warmed up and acting out the different sports we will expect to see at the Games. We watched a video about the Commonwealth Batton and where it is now, we saw that it was in country 38 of 72 and will return to the UK in June ready for the start of the games. We finished off the assembly getting a lovely photo with Perry. We had great fun and learnt lots!
