Peterbrook
Primary School
Mrs. L. Thorne
On behalf of the pupils, parents and staff, I welcome you to Peterbrook Primary School’s main website. I hope that you will find it enjoyable, interesting and informative.
On the 1st of January 2025 we joined The Elliot Foundation Academies Trust (TEFAT).
TEFAT is a successful, charitable multi-academy trust specialising in primary academies. They touch the lives of over over 14,000 children in over 30 schools across three different regions; the West Midlands, East Anglia and London (where our Head Office is based).
Over the last ten years they have created a thriving and diverse family of schools, committed to improving outcomes for all children, resourced by people who really want to make a difference, in an organisation that is relentlessly positive and ambitious. TEFAT's principal aim is … ‘to provide an environment where individuals – both children and staff – feel valued through an ethos of caring and encouragement, understanding and appreciation’ … As a school we give the professional development of all staff a high priority, which has a direct and positive impact on our pupils' learning. We have implemented a new behaviour policy, school values and six principles of Nurture. Our school values of Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Safe have been embraced by the school community. Peterbrook parents are generous with the support they give to their children, as well as the wider school community through the activities of our Parent Council and our thriving PTFA. As active partners in their children’s learning both the Parent Council and the PTFA is fully involved in shaping our school’s direction in terms of provision and resources. Our parents benefit from our popular 'PAWS & GRIZZLIES' Childcare Wraparound provision which is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm each day. We also provide a quality programme of pupil and family support and a comprehensive range of parenting activities, run by our school Child and Family Support Workers. In addition we support vulnerable children with specific medical needs with our own Medical Care Assistant and provide play therapy from our Trainee Play Therapists. Last but never least, it is our pupils who make Peterbrook a special place. We are proud of our pupils' academic performance and their success and achievements gained through the extensive range of musical, sporting and extra-curricular activities we offer them. If you would like to discuss with me any area of interest that you may have in relation to our school and its future direction, then please feel free to make an appointment at our school office or send me an e-mail. |
