Safeguarding concerns

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility. If you have a concern about a child, please do contact the school to discuss this. 

Should this concern arise during a school holiday when school is closed, please use the following email address: admin.croft@croftacademy.org marking the email FAO Designated Safeguarding Lead. We will have a DSL on call each day in the school holidays who will check these emails and contact you or the relevant agency should this be needed. 

Alternatively, you can also telephone the Solihull MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub) team on 0121 788 4300 option 2 (Monday to Thursday 8.45am-5.30pm, Friday 8.45am -4.30pm) or 0121 605 6060 (evenings, weekends or bank holidays). If you feel a child is in immediate danger call the police on 999. 

You can also call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000 or contact ChildLine on 0800 1111 for further advice or support.

Prevent Duty 

As a school, we recognise that safeguarding against radicalisation is different from safeguarding against any  other vulnerability. All staff are expected to uphold and promote British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. 

The Elliot Foundation Academies Trust and leaders within the academy have taken account of Prevent Duty guidance: Prevent Duty Guidance. This calls for all public bodies to make explicit their preventative measures to minimise the threat of extremism in their setting. 

Should you have any concerns regarding a child or family being at risk of radicalisation or being drawn into terrorism through exposure or engagement with extremist viewpoints, beliefs or language (irrespective of race, gender or cultural background), then please contact Miss S Crisp at Croft Academy via admin.croft@croftacademy.org.
