Mathematics is an essential part of a balanced curriculum that is both well matched and challenging to learner’s needs. We believe that all learners should become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics, should be able to reason mathematically and solve problems by the application of their mathematical understanding. Our intent is to develop a culture of deep understanding, confidence and competence in maths – a culture that produces strong, secure learning and real progress. We endeavour for every child to develop a sound understanding of Maths, equipping them with the skills of calculation, reasoning and problem solving that they will need in life beyond school.
