 Monday Maths L/O: Multiplication & Division S/C: Square Numbers Introduce that square numbers result of multiplying a number by itself. They learn the notation for squared is ². Go through some examples like 2² = 2x2=4, so 4 is a square number. Children to complete worksheet activities when they are secure. Homework: To complete the homework sheet that has been provided. English Success Criteria: I can plan my diary entry Use the planning sheet provided to create a plan for their diary entry about Carter’s discovery of the tomb and some of the objects found. Homework: Complete the homework sheet provided. Reading See Guided Reading Timetables below for this week’s activities. Spellings Test on words from last week. These were the revision words and five new spellings. Please see new spellings sheet below for the new spellings to be learnt. Time Tables Test on 11 times tables. Learn the 7 times tables. Use www.ttrockstars.com to practise as much as possible. PE Seated Balance. Practise sitting down and lifting your legs slightly off the floor. Can you pick up a cone from either side of you? Can you keep you balance? Can you do it with eyes closed? How many times can you pick up and put down the cone either side of you in 1 minute? Can you beat that score? Success = Able to maintain core stability and balance.
 Tuesday Maths L/O: Multiplication & Division S/C: Times Tables Complete starter activity. This lesson will build on their times tables knowledge; children will work hard on www.ttrockstars.com and through other times tables games and activities to improve the speed and accuracy of their skills. English Success Criteria: I can draft my diary entry. Today, begin to draft the diary entry using planning from Monday. Ensure to refer to the non-negotiables and follow the structure provided.  Wednesday Maths L/O: Multiplication & Division S/C: Cube Numbers Work through starter activity. Children learn that a cubed number is the product of three numbers which are the same. If you multiply a number by itself, then itself again the result is a cubed number. They learn the notation for cubed is ³. Model with interlocking cubes that it is basically the length x Width x Depth of a cube. Children to work through activities provided when they are confident to do so. English Success Criteria: I can draft my diary entry. Continue to draft the diary entry, proof reading and editing work in a purple pen if available. Reading See Guided Reading Timetables below for this week’s activities. Music Continue work from Charanga Music scheme based on rock music with a key focus on Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a prayer. Listen and evaluate this song on YouTube, practising the singing of it as well. Ensure children listen to other songs within this rock genre so that they can compare the song with each other.  Thursday Maths L/O: Multiplication & Division S/C: Inverse Operations Work through starter task. Explain that 8 x 4 = 32…. So then 32 ÷ 4 = 8 Children to create their own examples (including drawing of blocks) and write neatly into their books, showing a good understanding of the inverse operations. When confident, attempt the tasks given. Arithmetic: Please complete the Red Arithmetic Test below. English Success Criteria: I can draft my diary entry. Today, continue to draft and edit the diary entry aiming to finish the draft, ready to write up in neat tomorrow. Reading See Guided Reading Timetables below for this week’s activities. Science Forces: Air Resistance. Explain air resistance to the class. Show them videos of how air resistance affects the falling of objects and works against gravity. Show with dropping paper (flat and scrunched). Do a spinner investigation, showing how air resistance affects objects falling down.  Friday Maths L/O: Multiplication & Division S/C: Cube Numbers and Square Numbers / Maths of the Day Activities Children will reinforce their understanding of square and cube numbers in this lesson. Teacher to model examples on the board. Children to copy some questions from the teacher into their books and to answer them to show understanding. Class to play ‘Matching Squares and Cubes’ activity, where the teacher will place all of the numbers cards around the room/hall/outside. The children will then go off and try to match the cards with its partner. Time the children to see how long it takes to match up all the cards. Then re-set the activity to see if the class can work together in order to improve their time of the challenge. English Success Criteria: I can write legibly and fluently and create a diary entry. Today, use the draft and editing to write up a neat version of the diary entry. Ensure that handwriting is neat and that the editing and corrections are implemented.
