Seated Balance. Practise sitting down and lifting your legs slightly off the floor. Can you pick up a cone from either side of you? Can you keep you balance? Can you do it with eyes closed? How many times can you pick up and put down the cone either side of you in 1 minute? Can you beat that score? Success = Able to maintain core stability and balance. |

L/O: Multiplication & Division S/C: Cube Numbers Work through starter activity. Children learn that a cubed number is the product of three numbers which are the same. If you multiply a number by itself, then itself again the result is a cubed number. They learn the notation for cubed is ³. Model with interlocking cubes that it is basically the length x Width x Depth of a cube. Children to work through activities provided when they are confident to do so. |

L/O: Multiplication & Division S/C: Cube Numbers and Square Numbers / Maths of the Day Activities Children will reinforce their understanding of square and cube numbers in this lesson. Teacher to model examples on the board. Children to copy some questions from the teacher into their books and to answer them to show understanding. Class to play ‘Matching Squares and Cubes’ activity, where the teacher will place all of the numbers cards around the room/hall/outside. The children will then go off and try to match the cards with its partner. Time the children to see how long it takes to match up all the cards. Then re-set the activity to see if the class can work together in order to improve their time of the challenge. |

Success Criteria: I can write legibly and fluently and create a diary entry. Today, use the draft and editing to write up a neat version of the diary entry. Ensure that handwriting is neat and that the editing and corrections are implemented. |
