L/O: Fractions S/C: Finding equivalent fractions
Children recap on learning from year 4. They explore equivalent fractions using models and concrete representations. They use models to make the link to multiplication and division.
Children will then be able to apply the abstract method to find equivalent fractions. It is important children have the conceptual understanding before moving in to just using an abstract method.
Success Criteria: I can draft my letter.
Use your plan from yesterday to begin drafting your letter. Today, focus on your sign on and paragraph 1 and 2.
Complete the reading part of the comprehension task and start to answer the questions.
1 Star question sheet - slightly easier
2 star question sheet - medium level
3 star question sheet - trickiest
It may take you longer to read the 3 chapters than just one day, so please take longer if you need to. As long as the three chapters are read by this time next week, then that is absolutely fine.
This may mean that the comprehension questions take a little bit longer to complete. This is also fine, as long as they are completed by next week as well
Art and Design
Last week you planned your Viking shield.
This week, using old cardboard boxes and other resources that you can find in your home, attempt to construct your own Viking shield. We will then decorate these next lesson.
