A large group of Year 6 pupils from Peterbrook have just returned from a fabulous, action packed week at the Arete Outdoor Education Centre in Llanrug, Snowdonia.
Forty children, along with Mr Russell, Mrs Eagle, Mr Randle and Miss Perrins eventually set out, full of excitement, early on Monday morning. The week was full of challenge and adventure, with opportunities to develop teamwork, independence, organisation, persistence and communication skills.
Highlights from the five days include rafting on the Menai Straits and cooking pancakes on the shoreline; toasting marshmellows on the beach and scrambling on the rocks at various locations; night walking in an amazing misty background to the glowing beacon of Caernarfon Castle; bouldering and a trip to slate mines!
It was memorable and has helped the year group gel as a team as we look forward to the busy months ahead in Year 6.
