On Saturday 11th June, two coach loads of happy families set off from cloudy Birmingham and arrived in a rainy Weston-Super-Mare. Some families took this opportunity to go indoors to the pier and arcades, other families braved the rain and were on the beach, and some of the children were brave enough to have a paddle in the sea! Some families, including myself and Mrs. Ingham, went and saw the sand sculptures exhibition.
During the afternoon, the weather was on our side! As soon as the clouds had disappeared, the sun made an appearance; it was so hot some of us managed to get sunburnt, myself included.
This was the perfect opportunity for some of the children to have a donkey ride, eat ice creams and make sandcastles with other families. Unfortunately the tide was so far out in the afternoon, it was impossible for the children to go and have a paddle. A couple of children decided to try and attempt to paddle, which resulted in them getting covered in mud and oil!
All of the families said they had a great time and there were a lot of happy, red and tired faces on the coach going back to Peterbrook.
