On Thursday 12th January we were lucky enough to be visited by a local performing artist to run an assembly followed by a workshop for each year group. The whole day is described as ‘A Journey Across India’. The children found a mysterious box in their school library. On opening the box they are all transported to the wonderful mystic land of India. The children were able to learn about all different elements of Indian culture, dancing, festivals and the importance of faith and celebrations including Diwali, Holi and Baisakhi. These were Super workshops for children to discover, learn and understand about our world and planet and to have respect for oneself and other cultures, religions and faiths.....to build bridges amongst communities.
The assembly and workshops were great for both children and staff to get involved with and have lots of fun!
