Mrs Harris - Kingfishers

Welcome to Kingfishers Class Page

May 2022

We all had a truly amazing time at St Braivels and I know that the children who stayed in school also had lots of fun with Mrs Suleman creating and designing things based around their castles theme. Mr Rowe is creating a slideshow of all the photos from St Braivels, we have dwindled the photos down from 715 surprise to around 200 of the best photos. Keep checking back to the Year 4 page for updates. For now, here's just a few as a taster for you...

April 2022

We are extremely excited in Kingfishers to start using our brand new book corner. We have all new bookcases and comfy stools to sit on. We think you will agree it looks great! We get to go in the book corner during our Guided Reading sessions and we are encouraged to take books home each week from the classroom library. We are ver lucky to have a wide range of Fiction and Non-Fiction books to choose from :)

World Book Day

The children have had a great time celebrating World Book Day. We carried out daily tasks set by Mr Hughes based on lots of different authors and dressed up as our favourite characters. We have been reading Harry Potter in class and as you can see we have lots of fans smiley

Green Day

We have been learning about the importance of recycling during this term's Green Day. We took part in an activity looking at the waste we produce within a day and considering the other uses we could find for recyclable materials such as turning bottle and cartons into bird feeders or planters or using our compostable waste to feed plants and flowers.

January 2022

We are starting our new topic looking at the Romans. You can use the following link to look at lots of interesting facts, videos and activities about the Romans.

Kingfishers would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!!

A huge thank you from Mrs Harris, Mrs Suleman, Mrs Amison and Mrs Argent for all your wonderful cards and gifts. We hope you all have a lovely and well deserved break :) See you in the new year!

November 2021

With Remembrance Day approaching, we have created the following window display in our classroom to remember those who have served and died in war.

October 2021

In our Science sessions, we have begun looking at States of Matter. Watch the video below which gives an introduction to the three states of matter that we will be learning about over the next few weeks.

September 2021

We have wasted no time in diving straight into our first Humanities topic 'Ancient Greece'. We have already looked at the country of Greece, using atlases to identify the countries that border it and the seas which surround it.  We have also discussed the key features of its landscape which make it a great holiday destination.
