Dance workshop

We were so lucky to day to have the opportunity to take part in a dance workshop with Hannah based on wonder. We had great fun making up sequences of movements in a group!

Creative Arts week - June 2019

This year's theme is dreams and wonder. We began the week looking at the work of Vincent Van Gogh. We tried to re-create his 'starry night' picture, using wax crayons and watered down paints. Here we are hard at work!

Week commencing Monday 3rd June

What a great way to start the second half of our very last term in Year Two! 2H are very proud to have received the attendance award and we get to look after SAM the bear! Mrs Hashdi and Mrs Amison are so very proud of them!

June 2019

Over the first half of the Summer term, 2H carefully looked after some very special guests! We watched our caterpillars grow bigger and bigger until they eventually formed a cocoon. Mrs Amison took them home over the half term break and watched as they emerged in to beautiful butterflies! We were so happy that all five of them hatched and emerged.

World book day March 2019

Today we have had great fun dressing up as our favourite characters from books! We also got to share our favourite stories with our classmates. Can you spot the different characters and can you recognise which book they might be from?

Tuesday 5th February - safer internet day

Today we have been thinking about how to keep safe on line. We talked about how we use the internet for different things - we find out information and we can also communicate with people. We discussed what we thought the internet was and when we should ask permission to use the internet depending on what we wanted to use it for. We thought about the times when we should ask permission to use the internet to make sure we stay safe. We drew around our hands on a piece of green card and a piece of red card. On the red card we wrote about things we shouldn't do on the internet without permission and on the green one times when it is safe to use the internet without seeking permission. We now understand how important it is to make good choices to look after ourselves and others online and if something doesn't look right then we should always tell a trusted adult.

Children in need 2018

Today we had great fun coming to school in our pyjamas and our spotty clothes! We got to buy things from the bring and buy sale and also raised some money by selling some yummy cakes!

Our super artwork!

2H are proud to present their super artwork! Early this term we tried to reproduce artwork based on Georgia O'Keeffe's work. Most recently we were inspired by the work of Picasso and created our own Cubist pictures! Can you spot who they are? (Clue they are famous people from the past!)

Friday 30th November - Green day

Today is Green day! We have been learning all about the harmful effects of plastic on our environment and how it can kill or harm wildlife including turtles. We decided to make our own turtles using recycled materials - card and old buttons. Here we are making them!

Monday 14th May

The time has come...our resident butterflies Betty, Bella, Beyonce, Barbara and Bonnie- Blossom need to spread their wings and find their own way in the world. Thank you little ladies...it has been lovely watching you grow!!

Thursday 10th May

Hooray! The day we have been waiting for since the first week of the Summer term! Our resident caterpillars have begun to emerge from their cocoons!! So far we have three. We have named them Betty, Bella and Beyonce!! Take a look at how beautiful they are!!

Thursday 1st March - World book day!

Oh what fun we had! ~Despite the biting cold weather, we all had great fun coming to school dressed as our favourite book character! The day was packed with plenty of fun activities. We got to share our books with not only our friends from 2H but also from half of 5B who came to share their stories with half of us whilst the other half visited Miss Belcher's class. We even had a visit from 'Hagrid!' Take a look at us in our super costumes!!

Friday 9th February

This week we were thinking about how to keep safe on the internet. We discussed many important things to do with staying safe. We began by thinking about how we are all connected to one another and we used a ball of string to show how each one of us is connected with everyone else!

Friday 2nd February

Due to a technical hitch we have not been able to update our class pages as often as we had liked!! Hopefully this is all sorted out now!! On Friday 2nd February we celebrated National Number day! We got to work on a maths quiz with some of the year six children. We all had great fun!!
