Creative Arts Week for Class 5L - Henri Matisse and Andy Warhol were our focus artists...

Many parents attended Peterbrook's art exhibition after the Dance Festival. You all saw the amazing results of both individual and collective work from the children. Now here is a chance to see 5L 'behind the scene' creating a textile masterpiece inspired from Henri Matisse 'Polynesian Sky' and of course our own attempts at Pop Art self-portraits...

Dunfield House 2015

On 19th May, 24 pupils from Year 5 went on the three night residential trip to Dunfield House. We attended the course with two other schools - Shirley Heath and Chapel Fields so there were over 80 pupils there altogether!

We had a fantastic time exploring the performing arts. Pupils had opportunities to play instruments, make costumes, create a set and carry out dance, drama and singing activities.

The week culminated in a music concert and dramatic performance on the final morning which parents were invited to. Our pupils performed brilliantly and we were all very proud of their work.

In addition to performing arts opportunities, pupils also got to use the swimming pool, visit the tuck shop, play in the adventure play area, go for a country walk and participate in a treasure hunt. The food was amazing (as always) and we all arrived back full and happy, ready to relax at half term!

Well done Year 5, you were a credit to our school.

Mrs Hurd

As part of our English scheme of work, we have had the privilege to read the story of Grendel. In the tradition of the Great Dane and Geat  Warriors, the children of 5L have created some masks... Here they are:

Half-term project to be completed by all year 5 children for Monday 1st June 2015

These are the wonderful projects created by 5L children. Enjoy the instruments and weather station designs as  illustrations of our Geography I.P.C. unit.

5CH had lots of fun over the half-term creating their own weather stations. The children also enjoyed presenting their models to the rest of the class.
