INTERNET SAFETY

INTERNET SAFETY
As parents, we all have one extra special role, one that is more important than anything else ..... to keep our precious children safe in an ever changing world, whilst at the same time giving our children an opportunity to grow as responsible, trusted young adults. It's a difficult balance to try and achieve, and this web-section is designed to help you.
Peterbrook is the first school in Solihull to become a member of CEOP - the 'Child Exploitation and On-Line Protection' Centre, which is a global network of national police forces/support agencies, designed to help us keep children and vulnerable adults as safe as possible in the face of on-line threats. Mr. Derek Rhind, our school IT technician has undergone CEOP training to enable him to share with our pupils and their parents, CEOP's excellent resources. As a school, we see on a daily basis the stunning opportunities that the internet can offer in terms of supporting and advancing all pupils' learning. Sadly, our protected school internet service for children is not enough - after listening to parent requests, we now feel that there is a need to offer support and advice for parents in relation to their child gaining internet access at home on their PC's and via their child's mobile phone.
We now offer a range of support opportunities for our parents, as shown below:

More about CEOP:
The Child Exploitation and On-Line Protection Centre is dedicated to eradicating the sexual abuse of children. That means it is part of UK policing and is very much about tracking and bringing offenders to account either directly or in partnership with local and international forces.
