The girls have started their season against two very difficult teams from Dickens Heath and Dorridge primary schools.
The conditions were terrible, with the wind, rain and a very muddy pitch that turned into a bit of an ice rink as the matches went on.
The girls did not let the conditions get them down and performed brilliantly throughout both games. They managed to win their first game and only just lost the second game to a couple of goals in the last three minutes of the game.
Peterbrook 5 - 1 Dickens Heath
Peterbrook 2 - 4 Dorridge

South Solihull Football Tournament
Our Team: Ajshe-Bleu, Alex, Lauren, Niamh, Charlotte, Sienna, Kate-Emma & Ella
Peterbrook Girls FC entered their second football tournament of the year! The girls were runners up in the first competition and were keen to go one step further and win this one, but they knew they would have to play well.
The competition was run like a round robin competition with all the teams playing against each other.
Our first match was against Greswold 1 (Who had beaten us in the final last time) and we were keen to get a good result. The girls came out flying and were playing brilliantly. Eventually, Sienna took a fantastic shot that flew past the keeper and made it 1-0 and we held out for a deserved victory!
Our second match was against Shirley Heath and was a competitive match with us going really close on a number of occasions but no one could score and it finished 0-0.
The third match was a against Monkspath 2 and Peterbrook played amazingly. We scored 3 great goals through Kate-Emma and Ella (2) and won comfortably 3-0.
Our fourth match was another hard fought win against Greswold 2, where Ella scored the winning goal to make it 1-0. Ajshe-Bleu made a fantastic save in the last minute to seal our victory!
The fifth game was against Monkspath 1 and was another superb display with the girls winning 3-0! 2 goals from Ella and a goal from Kate-Emma helped us to victory!
The final game was against Ulverley and the girls were full of confidence now and dominated the game. 2 more goals from Ella and another super goal from Sienna helped us to get the win!
The team were absolutely fantastic today, with all the girls working well as a complete team! It was brilliant to watch! From the goalkeeping of Ajshe-Bleu, the defensive work of Niamh and Alex, the hard battling and tackling of Charlotte and Lauren to the goal scoring of Ella, Kate-Emma and Sienna; the girls could not be faulted at all. They ended up as the champions of the competition and all took home a winners medal! Well done!
For the first time, Peterbrook Primary School entered an all girls football competition at Lode Heath School.
The competition had 16 different school teams from across the South Solihull Borough, with the teams being split across 4 groups. We were placed in a group with teams from Greswold 2, Monkspath and Berskwell.
Our team: Ajshe-Bleu, Alex, Niamh, Ella, Charlotte, Sienna & Lauren
Our first match against Greswold 2 was a good opening game and the girls were finding their feet and we managed a 1-1 draw.
The second match was much more comfortable and we were clear winners over Monkspath 3-0.
We went 1-0 down in our final group game against Berskwell, but showed great team spirit and resilience to come back fighting and we won the game 2-1.
This left us with 7 points and we won our group! This meant that we were through to the semi-finals against the other teams that won their groups.
In the semi-final, we were up against Shirley Heath who were a very strong team. It was end to end but Peterbrook managed a wonderful goal which clinched the game and we won 1-0! We were through to the final!
In the final we played against a very strong Greswold 1 team. Both teams had chances and the game remained 0-0 and extra time had to be added on so that a winner could be found. Unfortunately, Greswold 1 took a chance and scored to make them win the game 1-0.
We came 2nd Place out of 16 school teams in the whole of the South Solihull area! This was our first tournament as a team and the girls produced outstanding performances which led to our amazing results!
Well done girls and I'm sure we're all looking forward to the next one!
