 ECO COUNCIL
2011-12

Peterbrook School has launched a 'greener' lifestyle – one that is benefiting us all, and especially our pupil’s future world.
Our 'ECO Council' made up of 13 representatives whose role is to help our environment both in school and in the wider community.
Our ECO Councillors operate a fantastic school recycling scheme, a litter-picking programme to keep our school grounds looking neat and tidy and in addition, they have regular council meetings to discuss anything else that they can do to help the environment.

Councillors are particularly proud of their 'ECO Garden' which is landscaped within our school grounds. All our classes are timetabled to do gardening each school week (between mid-February and mid-October) and they have grown plants, fruits and vegetables which are used within our school (eg. school lunches) and our community (eg. lavender for 'lavendar bags' for Mother's Day, pumpkins for our Hallowe'en school discos, potatoes for baking on our Bonfire Night and Fireworks Display evening), etc. etc.
Our ECO Councillors are particularly grateful to our school governors for supporting such a wonderful garden project that is teaching our pupils not only valuable gardening skills, but also how to work together as a school community.
This year, why not click on the links below to see our new ECO sections. Enjoy!!
Together, let's make our school and community an even better place!
