Solihull Schools Dodgeball Finals Tournament - 2017 -2018

Solihull schools are split into one of five different collaboratives. After winning our collaborative tournament, our Year 5 dodgeball team went on to play in a champions event with the winners and runners up of each of the other collaborative events.

This tournament was made up of the 10 strongest teams/schools from across all areas of Solihull.

 Our team was represented by:

Ashton, George, Max, Huda, Wardah, April & Aamani

The children performed brilliantly against some very tough opposition and won 3 out of their 4 group matches, meaning that they finished 2nd in their group. This meant that they were able to play against the a team from Widney to see who would go to the final. Unfortunately, Widney just came out on top and they went on to the final.

Our team from Peterbrook finished in 4th place out of the 10 teams tonight! That's 4th place out of all the schools in the whole of Solihull! That is AMAZING!

Well done to all the children involved this year. You should all be very proud of yourselves!

Local Area (Evolve Schools) Dodgeball Tournament - 2017 -2018

There were  a total of 11 teams taking part in the dodgeball tournament, representing 6 different schools.

Team 1 - Ashton, George, Max, Huda, Wardah, April & Aamani - CHAMPIONS! 1st Place!

Team 2 - Billy, Rehan, Mohammad, Jayden, Riel & Olivia - Joint 3rd Place!

Two Year 5 teams from Peterbrook entered the local area Dodgeball festival, which was based on enjoyment and fair play! Children were selected for this festival, based on their enjoyment of the game and fair play levels.

Team 1 managed to win all of their league games and made it through to the final, finishing top of their league of 5 teams.

Team 2 won most of their league games and finished in 2nd place in their league of 6 teams, just marginally missing out on the final.

Team 2 finished the tournament in joint 3rd place, which was an amazing achievement and Team 1 actually won their final match and were the champions of the festival! What an achievement by everyone! Well done to all the children that took part! You have represented our school amazingly and should all be extremely proud of how well you did today!

On Tuesday 29th November 2016 a group of six children from Year 5 along with Miss Belcher (who has been training them) took part in South Solihull's first ever dodgeball tournament. The children were really excited to be chosen to represent Peterbrook Primary School and to play against different schools in the borough. They had a rocky start to the tournament but they were able to pull it back and draw their first game and then win the tiebreaker. With this new found confidence the children went on to win all of their matches meaning that they won their group and went through to the final. During their first final match the children were quick to take the lead and won the match meaning that they were then playing for first place. Their final match was extremely close but Peterbrook managed to catch out the final player on the opposing team meaning that they won first place! The children have now won a place in the next dodgeball tournament which will take place early next year!
A huge thank you to all who came and supported the children, it was an exciting event which the children really enjoyed and they truly deserved to win after they showed fantastic teamwork throughout! We are all looking forward to our next tournament, so let's keep up with all our hard work in training!
