Welcome to Phoebe Fielding who replaces Ben Lockley who has now left the school
Mrs Hashdi welcomed the members and told them the total of money raised so far from 2 X non uniform days and raffle. Discussed how far off we are from target and the launch this week of 'shake your tic tacs'. Showed children the letter which will be going out today with an explanation of how it works - i.e sponsor form etc. Explain that Mr McGaw is going to launch it in assembly this morning. Ask for volunteers to help run the event (on Wednesday 3rd March). Discuss proposals for further sponsored events in May - either sport based or bike riding. Ask for comments on this and any other suggestions. Suggestion was made that we could do the sponsored bike event over the course of a few days to save 'chaos' of lots of bikes being brought in on one day - one day for Foundation, one for KS1, one for LKS2 and one for UKS2. To discuss details later. Also at next meeting to decide on theme for next big charity day which coincides with comic relief. Discuss outstanding issues - letter to be written by Mr McGaw to Sri-Lankan airways to ask for possible sponsorship of some kind/donation.

Recap on forthcoming fund raising for Sri Lankan visit - Tuesday 'shake your tic tacs' day. Reminded children to remind class of the need for as many sponsors as possible. Shared with School Council fact that there is a mystery prize for the person who raises the most money. Explained the events for tomorrow - asked for help/suggestions as to how we could run the afternoon. Decided that assembly best idea - School Council to help Mrs Hashdi with assembly - Ashleigh has volunteered to take photograph of everyone shaking tic tac boxes for the website. Kirsty and Claire to help Mrs Hashdi add up the amounts raised by each class - keep a running total. Also asked children to remind their classes today to bring tic tac boxes and sponsor forms in tomorrow and to remind children up to the 15th March to bring their sponsor ship money back to school. Asked for suggestions as to the fund raising event scheduled for March, to co-incide with comic relief day - think it is scheduled for March 19th - Mrs Hashdi to check on this. Voted for 'theme'.Suggestions made included back to front, clashing colours or dressing in red. Decided we would go with clashing colours or back to front obviously with red nose if they want to! Talked about cost - decided that in letter we would put minium donation of £1 - in case any one wanted to give more than £1.
