Brass Blast, Cricket Festival & St Briavels

St Briavels - Forest of Dean - 2017

We began our trip with a visit to the International Birds of Prey Centre. This was a fantastic place with lots of new birds to see with some amazing flying demonstrations.

Our next stop was at PuzzleWood. This is another amazing place (even in the rain) where Dr Who was filmed. We got the chance  to explore all around, get really wet and muddy and have a great time searching for all the treasures that the wood had to offer.

The next part of our trip took us to Clearwell Caves, where we got to see how iron ore was mined deep underground. We also found out all about the tough jobs that children would have to do in the olden days as well. This was very interesting indeed.

We then ventured to the Dean Heritage Centre, where we had the chance to do a variety of activities in our groups. We all walked along the Gruffalo Trail, became Woodland Warriors, did some Adventure challenges and had a game of Capture the flag. All the children had a fantastic time here.

We began our final day with a tour of the Castle and a little bit of archery. We learnt some amazing facts about all of the rooms and how King John used the Castle for his holidays.

We have all had an amazing time at St Briavels and the surrounding areas within the Forest of Dean. The children behaved excellently and it was a pleasure to accompany them on this fantastic school trip.

Year 4 Cricket Festival 2017 - Moseley Cricket Club

We had a great day out in some very tough weather conditions. The wind, rain and cold were out but they didn't stop us all from having a fantastic day of cricket.

We started the day with some fun warm up activities, where we got the chance to practise our catching and also our running with the bat. After this, we split into our four leagues (A, B, C, D) and we all played 3 cricket games against other schools.

All the teams performed brilliantly and behaved perfectly! It was a pleasure to watch!

Team A actually managed to win the tournament with 3 fantastic wins against the A teams from the other schools competing and were crowned as Champions! Amazing!

This means that they get the chance to play at Edgbaston Cricket Club against the winners from other

festivals in the Solihull area! Well done!

All the children took part, showing good sportsmanship and enjoyment and were a real credit to the school!

Brass Blast 2017

We had a fantastic evening on the 9th March at Warwick Arts Centre, when we were centre stage performing our wonderful music to an audience of about 1000 people. We played our own piece of music called 'Mini March' and we produced an amazing performance! We also took part in two whole group pieces of music with 10 other schools, called 'Ribena' and 'Shake, Rattle and Roll'.

They were both spectacular!

We had a great time and we represented our school magnificently and all the children should be so proud of themselves!

Here are some pictures of what we got up to smiley
