How did it all begin?
ARCHIVE: January 2005:
Following the visit to Peterbrook School of a Belarussian delegation who were the guests of Solihull MBC, Mr. McGaw got in touch with teacher Mr. Nikolai Kamenko in School No.3, Stolbtsy in Belarus. Year 4 children then became 'twinned' with children in Stolbtsy. Afterwards ten Peterbrook pupils regularly sent e-mail messages to Mr. Kamenko and real friendships developed between our children and our teachers. In April 2005 Mr. Carter and Mr. McGaw visited Belarus to formally sign an international agreement between the two schools, develop the link further and plan for future curriculum projects and visits between our children and teachers. In June 2006 Stolbtsy children and their teachers were hosted at Peterbrook for a wonderful visit where our curriculum arts links were strengthened via performance by pupils from both schools together! In October 2008 after several exchanges of communication and gifts between our two schools, Mr. Carter returned to Stolbtsy to teach in the classroom and create a new joint-curriculum 'podcasting' project which began in November (see Radio Peterbrook). In Summer 2009 a new and exciting project involving our children will be announced!! Watch this space!!

I have received letters of your children and will pass to our children.
The name of our school: Secondary school of 3 cities Stolbtsy.
She(it) is located in city Stolbtsy the Minsk area (78 kilometers on the south
from city of Minsk on a card(map) of Byelorussia.
The city is located in the beginning of the river Neman.)
At our school children from 6 till 17 years are engaged.
Total of children: 1570. At our school 125 teachers work.
