At Carpet Time

Carpet time is a time when we learn lots of new things, take turns to talk and listen and enjoy story time. When we first come to the carpet we need to get ready to do these things and we have pictures to help us to remember how.

The first thing we do is make sure we are sitting on our bottoms, this helps all our friends to see what is going on. We try hard to cross our legs too!

Next we close our lips, this helps us to get ready to listen and take part in learning.

Then we make sure we are looking at the person at the front, another way we get ready to listen.

We get our listening ears ready by giving them a wiggle to make sure we have brought them to Nursery.

The last thing we do is turn on our brains so we are ready to think about what we are learning about or what we have been asked to do.
